WHAT IS RELAY FOR LIFE?

It's 16 Hours You'll Never Forget!

The National Cancer Society of Malaysia's Relay For Life is a high-spirited event where everyone in the community can join in the fight against cancer. It is a day filled with fun, comradeship and festivities. It is a time when people you know and people you don't know team up to raise public awareness about cancer in the community and to raise funds to find the cure.

Sparked by One Man's Hope

Relay For Life began in 1985 in Tacoma, Washington when Dr. Gordon Klatt walked for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. He raised $27,000 that first year. Since then, Relay For Life events around the world have raised a billion dollars to support programmes aimed at eliminating cancer.

Building a Team and More To participate in Relay For Life, you recruit friends, family, coworkers and neighbours to join you in a Relay team. In the weeks leading up to the event, each team member raises money by collecting pledges. On Relay Day, team members take turns walking around the track to ensure that someone is on the track at all times. We don't sleep that night because cancer never sleeps.

In addition to the team members who are walking the track, hundreds of other participants camp out, and together, create a community party atmosphere. Relay For Life is a great team builder for businesses and other organizations.

Celebration and Inspiration Each Relay For Life starts with the Survivors' Lap, a testimony to the fact that so many people today are surviving cancer. Cancer survivors from the community walk the first lap around the track to celebrate their victories while everyone else cheers them on. The most inspirational time of Relay is the Luminaria Ceremony which happens at dusk when we honour cancer survivors and remember those who have lost their battle with the disease. A luminaria is a small bag filled with sand holding a small candle. When the candle is lit, the luminaria casts a warm, golden glow.

Each luminaria bears the name of a person who has battled cancer. All the luminarias are placed side-by-side in the in-field around the track. After sunset, all the luminarias are lit and remain lit throughout the night to light the way for the walkers and to create a path of hope. Relay For Life is also a celebration of caregivers who also often find hope at Relay. These individuals give their time, love and support to friends, family and neighbours who face cancer. At Relay, everyone understands the challenges and joys of being a caregiver. Walking Our Talk Every Relay For Life is a tobacco-free event. Relay For Life also gives the National Cancer Society of Malaysia the opportunity to ‘walk our talk’ and show the community how easy it is to follow our cancer prevention guidelines.

I'll be joining this event.Anyone interested?It's something meaningful to do!
I'll try to find as many people as i can(max 10)to build a team and join this event.(If not i will be joining alone)We have to walk for 16hours non-stop but of course we can take turn.They'll have a lot of tent's for participant but i need to book,so for those interested to join please do let me know asap.The registration fee is only RM10/pax.
If u dont really understand what this is all about,kindly buzz me and i'll try my best to explain to u. =)

Hmm..i m thinking that if we can build a team which is all blogger then it should be quite special and we might raise more fund during the relay!

my cutie niece!! =D

Hey hey hey!I am a Suk Suk now!OMG sound like so old huh?Hmm..getting old ler.
Anyway,on last month 29th my sis-in-law gave birth to a cute baby girl.It was my very first niece and i am very happy cuz this is the first time we've got a baby in the family.Of course i dont consider myself when i was a baby lar. =P
She's 17 days old now and it's really fun to see her grow bigger each day although she like to sing karaoke cry but it's really cute u know.LoL.
I only hugged her for once as she's still so small and fragile plus i m not a expert Suk Suk yet. =P
I really can't wait to see her grew up,so that i can bring her for photoshoot and of course play with her!
Auww...i feel like having my own kid! >_< OK STOP LAUGHING OKEH.
Baby life is damn syiok,everyday she only eat,sleep,cry,eat,sleep,cry...and everyone treat her like a Queen.Heahea.
Anyway,few days ago finally i got the chance to shoot some of her pix.Before that,she sleep most of the time..-__- This year is a pig year,so..another potential cutie-sleepy-pig is in the making!LoL! =D
Oh ya btw,she has been given the name Chong Loke Yee. =)

On that day,when i got up from my sleep i went to my bro's bedroom and saw her playing alone in her bed.



OMG she's awake and very energetic!So i asked her wheter she want to let Suk Suk to shoot some pix of her.
She didnt say anything so i assume that she agree.Haha! =P
So when i point my camera to her...


She shy shy woh...

But few moments after that...


She become a poser lioa!Auw..CUTE!!

Ok,then i told her enough of shoot for the day already and i put her back in the bed...


She seem to be sad...

And as i m leaving the bedroom,she...


Aiyer yer yer...she sing karaoke again!! =P

ultimate street tuners 07 bukit jalil

About 2 weeks ago,i went to the so called ULTIMATE street tuners at Bukit Jalil.
Actually,i dont really want to go but my fingers are itchy and my camera shouted; "bring me there and shoot!".So yeah,u know i pamper myself my camera a lot so i went to the carnival.Heahea.
Hm...i was kinda disappointed with the carnival but i should've expected it as it's our local very own STREET TUNERS carnival.
Didnt get to see much of nicely modified cars but a lot of lala-funny-cars,cartoon cars and etc. *shake head* And guess what's the most geli things u can see at the carnival?Well..a lot of male visitors which they take turn to take pix with all the chix promoters.
And these promoters,which i guess they feel like being a superstar,are super willingly to pose and even hug with them!
Alright,enough of complain already.(although there are still a lot) =P haha!

good charlotte concert

Last Saturday(21st April 07),i went to the Good Charlotte concert at Bukit Jalil but i was late.Reached there around 10:30pm and too bad i cant get in where my friends was at.So i watched the concert about 100meter+ away with Junn.Sorry dude,if not bcoz of me u dont have to watch the concert so far away.Anyway,many thanks to u. =)
It was the 1st concert i went since i bought my new cam,so here are some of the pix i took during the concert.Please dont mind about the bad quality pix aite.Cant get a nice spot so i have to fully utilise the zoom lens. =)

After the PC Fair,while i was walking back to KLCC i took a few shoots.It was actually my very 1st time to shoot KLCC. =)

it took me half an hour to figured out how to do this effect!

Today,i received an forward email which make me feel very angry with the writer.
Here's what the writer wrote;

Saya menerima kiriman email dari seorang sahabat beserta beberapa keeping gambar yang ingin saya kongsikan dengan para pembaca Blog ini.

Menurut sahabat yang mengirim, kejadian ini berlaku di Jalan Raja Laut, KL baru-baru ini. Seorang pemuda yang telah mencuri telefon bimbit di sebuah kedai handphone berdekatan telah berjaya diberkas oleh orang-ramai.

Beliau diikat dan dibelasah sehingga menyembur darah dari mulutnya. Lihatlah tindakan zalim yang dikenakan ke atas si pencuri. Memang siapa pun tidak bersimpati dengan pencuri, tetapi negara kita mempunyai undang-undang dan peraturan. Kesalahan pemuda ini adalah mencuri telefon bimbit, apakah begini sepatutnya hukuman ke atas beliau.

Lebih dahsyat lagi apabila pemuda tadi menyerahkan kad pengenalannya. Cuba lihat betul-betul. Rupa-rupanya beliau baru berusia 15 tahun!


Diusia ini jika pun beliau telah mencuri si budak kecil ini tidak akan didakwa di mahkamah terbuka tetapi mahkamah juvana yang mendengar kes yang melibatkan kanak-kanak. Mengapa beliau diperlakukan begini sekali, apakah mereka yang membelasah beliau yang rata-rata terdiri dari orang Melayu/Islam itu tidak usul-periksa terlebih dahulu sehingga tidak mengenal antara kanak-kanak dan orang dewasa.

Memang budak ini mungkin telah mencuri, tetapi stigma yang akan dipikulnya lantaran dibelasah sedemikian rupa di usia muda ini pasti akan diheretnya sehingga ke tua nanti. Apakah kesudahnnya nanti, apa akan jadi kepada hidup beliau nanti?

Sepatutnya budak ini diserahkan kepada pihak polis untuk diambil tindakan dan sepatutnya begitulah juga mereka yang bernfasu yang telah mengambi kesempatan ke atas beliau yang sebenarnya lebih hina dari budak yang mencuri itu.

15 years old but he did such crime.Nowadays,those teenagers are very daring.If he dont get heavier punishment,seriously i dont think anyone can lead him to the right way.Dont want to be in such scene so dont EVER involve in ANY crime.Simple common sense.No matter what problems that the kid might have,none of them can be the excuse for crime!
Dont blame the people when they beat him.There are just too much of similar case happen EVERYDAY.
He deserve it.

My dad was robbed 2 weeks ago infront of the house.2 bastards with parang chased my dad and my dad fell down.One of them keep slashing on my dad after he fell on the ground.Someone saw and shouted at the bastards then they fled away.My dad was very very lucky that someone saw it before anything worse happen.
My dad has bruises all over his body and still recovering now.Both leg was quite badly injured.Left leg has a slashed wound about 3-4cm.

So u feel PITY with the snatch thief?
I will never ever feel pity with them.I will be one of the people who beat them.
Sound not right?F*ck it.

Dont practise do-now-and-ask-for-forgiveness-later.
A thousand of laws wont stop the crime.Prepare yourself to fight with them.

I went to the PC Fair on last Sunday.Didn't buy anything as my main purpose is to shoot the event but it was...

so crowded!!
